Everything you need to know, before you launch.
Answers to the questions anchor teams ask us most. Can't find yours? Talk to us.
What is a Stellar anchor?+
An anchor is the bridge between local fiat and the Stellar network — it takes fiat deposits, issues 1:1-backed tokens like USDC, and redeems them back to fiat. NordStern runs that entire bridge on your behalf.
What does NordStern actually run for me?+
The full stack: the SEP protocol servers, INR payment rails, USDC settlement on Stellar, identity via Didit, compliance monitoring, treasury and an operator console — hosted, monitored and kept running.
How long does it take to launch?+
You start on testnet in days, then go live once your license, bank and reserves are in place — typically a few weeks, versus the multiple quarters it takes to build the stack in-house.
Which payment rails are supported?+
Deposits and payouts run over UPI, IMPS, NEFT and RTGS through regulated partners, with every transfer reconciled to on-chain settlement automatically.
How does KYC work?+
Users complete document, liveness and face-match verification once through Didit. The verified identity is reused across every flow and tuned for Tier 2/3 India.
Do users hold their own funds?+
Yes. Assets stay in the user's own Stellar wallet — NordStern renders the deposit and withdrawal experience but never takes custody of user keys.
